In this tour, you will see the most beautiful natural landscape, streams, cardamom plants, and terraced fields and experience the ethnic minority culture of Sapa.

This route is not what a lot of people know. You can’t do this trek using GPS navigation like maps, but by leading with our local expert guide, you will not worry about the trail- you will love this tour and enjoy it.

You will see the whole Muong Hoa valley from the grasslands at scenic stops. You can admire the valley’s landscape and the villages at the mountain’s bottom. And enjoy the view of Sapa town. We will show you as much as the tour provides and more.

This tour is excellent for those who want to explore nature, learn about the flora of Hoang Lien National Park, and experience the national culture from housing, dining, traditional costumes, and daily life activities of the locals.

Most of the locations on this tour are famous places to visit in Sapa, from Cat Cat village to Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai, and Ta Van. Each area has different beauty in nature, tradition, culture, and people.

01. Cat Cat Village is a famous tourist destination in Sapa. Referring to Cat Cat refers to the Hmong people and their cultural traditions. Here you will admire the beautiful traditional costumes and colorful and traditional dances of the Hmong people.

02. You will admire the natural landscape; learn about the ecosystem, plants, and animals. We will be passing through the forest to the top; here, you will see villages of the Hmong with about 4 – 5 houses set up halfway up the mountain. You will be able to visit the homes of the Hmong and learn about their traditional culture.

03. Lao Chai is a village that everyone mentioned when traveling to Sapa; this is one of the most populous communities of the Black Hmong. They have joined and built a unique cultural system such as rice terraces, houses, costumes, and lifestyles.

Itinerary

In the morning: Nature View and Amazing Terraced Rice Fields

At 9 AM: Meeting at your hotel or Notre Dame Cathedral (Sapa’s Church). And start your tour.

We will trek down 2km to Cat Cat village. You can see the whole Cat Cat village at the foot of the mountain and terraced fields with Hmong houses in the distance.

At 9:30 AM: Arrive Cat Cat village. You will admire their traditional houses, costumes, and dances. Under the homes of the Hmong people is a small stream that is the headwaters of the Muong Hoa River. Here you will see the Tien Sa waterfall and Sapa power plant built during the French colonial period.

After 30 minutes visit, we will trek uphill to Y Linh Ho village. On the way, we can see the cardamom forest and flora of Hoang Lien National Park. There are many fruit trees on both sides of the road; you will be surprised.

At 10:30 PM: We will go to the meadow at the top of the mountain, where you can see all of Sapa town and Muong Hoa valley, where there are villages of Black Hmong and Giay people. We can take some pictures and then follow the trail of local people to get to the village.

At around 11:30 AM: We have a picnic lunch on the grassy hill of the mountain – have lunch and enjoy the landscapes.
In the afternoon: Traditional villages and Culture

At 1:00 PM, After lunch, we will continue trekking to visit the houses of the Hmong people, learn about their life and culture, and admire the natural landscape and terraced fields.

At around 2:00 PM: Arrive Lao Chai village. Here, we will learn about customs, habits, and life tools and listen to their experiences building houses and working on terraced fields.

At 3:00 PM: We will reach Ta Van, a village of Giay ethnic minorities. Here, you will learn about two cultures, the Back Hmong and the Giay people. You will see the design of those houses is different as well. Ta Van is also the last village on this tour.

At 3:30 PM: A car or bus will pick you up from the community back to Sapa.

At around 4:00 – 4:30 PM: Arrive Sapa at the end of the tour.

(The tour will end at about 4:30PM in Sapa town, so you can book a bus back to Hanoi or somewhere after that)

Bus From Hanoi to Sapa (Optionnal)

This is optional and will not include in the tour price.

Bus from Hanoi <=> Sapa, It takes about 6 hours. If you arrive at Sapa early, the bus will let you sleep until 5 AM.

The Cabin Sleeper Bus and Single Cabin Sleeper Bus are private, but if you are taller than 1m7, you might consider the Sleeper Bus because you can adjust the bed, making you more comfortable. However, if you want private, the other 2 options would be best.

Once we receive your booking, we will confirm and send you the bus tickets.

A Cabin Sleeper Bus/42USD/way: This is a cabin with 2 small beds that you can sleep 2 people. If you are a couple or want to make it private, this is the best choice (you can see it in the image).

A single cabin sleeper bus/22USD/way: This is a single cabin with 1 bed that you can sleep with 1 person (Meaning: 1 person/ 1 single cabin). If you are one person and want to make your bus trip private, nothing is better than this option (you can see it in the image).

Sleeper bus/17USD/way: This is a single bed (not private) that you can sleep with 1 person (you can see it in the image).

Our convenience & note
🔉If you have a big bag or a big suitcase, no worries. I have a store in Sapa where you can leave your luggage when you arrive as well as take a shower before you leave Sapa. Then you can bring a small bag while trekking.
🔉 We can arrange a bus or train for you from Hanoi - to Sapa and back Hanoi. If you need any help with the service, please contact us for more information.
